Good news for the coal mining industry in the Hunter Valley with a record high number of jobs.
According to new data….there were 14,382 people recorded as coal industry workers in the Hunter at the end of last year.

This is the highest level recorded in eight years.
There were more than 13,250 mining workers in the Hunter’s 28 mines at the end of 2021.
