Upper Hunter Shire ratepayers are now funding free scones for visitors to the Hunter Warbirds Museum cafe.
That’s according to outspoken councilor Elizabeth Flaherty after revealing the council-operated cafe lost over $53,000 dollars last financial year.
This is on top of massive operating losses for the museum itself, the Scone Airport and Scone Saleyards.

Independent Councillor Elizabeth Flaherty said this is another reason why the council should be sacked and administrator brought in.
“At six dollars a scone that equates to ratepayers subsidising 8,888 scones.”
