Current heatwave for one more day

Firefighters are on high alert today with the Bureau of Meteorology forecasting a top temperature of 41 and HIGH FIRE DANGER.

There is the smell of smoke over parts of the Upper Hunter at the moment. This is coming from a fire in the Port Stephens area.

Fire crews kept a grass fire adjacent to the Bayswater Power Station on Saturday afternoon to just a few hectares.

The RFS declared the blaze started by electrical infrastructure at the site.

We’ve been told tomorrow will be 35 degrees before dropping down to a somewhat chilly 23 on Wednesday and not rising above 28 for at least seven days.
