Motorists are advised of changed overnight traffic conditions from next week on the New England Highway near the Liddell interchange, south of Muswellbrook.
Essential maintenance work is being carried out, including asphalt resurfacing in both directions.
Work is being carried out from 7pm to 4:30am Sunday night to Thursday night from Tuesday 1 July to Friday 11 July, weather permitting.
For the safety of workers and motorists, a reduced 40 km/h speed limit and traffic control will be in place through the work area, which is expected to add around five minutes to motorists’ journeys.
Motorists are advised to plan their trip and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
Oversize Overmass (OSOM) vehicles more than three metres wide and 4.5 metres high will be required to stop before each approach to the bridge and contact traffic controllers on site for assistance to travel through the work site. OSOM operators are encouraged to consider their options and, where possible, delay travel until Friday and Saturday nights, when no work is scheduled.
Variable message boards will provide UHF channel and further information ahead of the scheduled work.
Transport for NSW thanks motorists for their patience during this time.
