The Cassilis community says it looks forward to finding out if the bore that supplies the village’s water is past its use-by date.
Upper Hunter Shire Council will investigate if the bore has been compromised after years of complaints by locals about the poor quality of the h-2-0 it produces.
Cassilis District Development Group President Jane Hegarty said many feel the bore is no longer fit for purpose.
Residents are crossing their fingers this morning that a new bore will be drilled to supply the town water or the current one plunged deeper below the surface with evidence suggesting better quality water can be found.
