Artists across the Hunter are being invited to take part in the Muswellbrook Hospital Redevelopment Stage 3, with expressions of interest now open for new public art installations. The $45 million upgrade aims to deliver a modern health facility that better meets the needs of patients, families and staff.
The artworks will feature within the hospital’s future Community Health space, creating a more welcoming and uplifting environment. The call-out is open to both established and emerging artists, with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander creatives, organisations and collaborative groups also encouraged to apply.
Health Infrastructure, Hunter New England Local Health District and Arts Upper Hunter are partnering on the initiative
Construction for Stage 3 of the redevelopment is progressing, including a new operating theatre suite, a new sterilising department and the relocation of community health consultation spaces into the existing hospital. The new theatres have recently been completed and are expected to open in the coming weeks. The full redevelopment is due for completion in 2027.
EOIs must be lodged by 5pm on February 27, 2026 and can be submitted here: https://www.haveyoursay.nsw.gov.au/muswellbrook-hospital-redevelopment-arts-program
