A judge has fined the bus company behind the fatal Greta bus crash 6$650,000 for employing a drug-impaired driver.
Linq Buslines directors Christopger Fogg and Anthony Royle were also fined $12,000 each over speeding-related offences.
The court heard that when driver Brett Button was employed by the company, his only reference check came in the form of a text message.

Judge Kirralee Perry found that Linq Buslines recruited Button despite knowing he’d been stood down by a previoud employer for an opioid dependency.
Justice Perry told Gosford Local Court no amount of money could take away the pain of victims’ families.
Ten people died in the 2023 crash, with driver Brett Button currently serving a 32-year jial sentence.
