Barrington Tops Forest Road has been closed on the MidCoast Council side after a large tree came down, blocking the route between Scone and Gloucester. The road is a key link across the mountain and is regularly used by locals and visitors travelling between the Upper Hunter and the Mid North Coast.

MidCoast Council crews are working to clear the obstruction, but the closure is expected to remain in place for some time. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and plan alternative travel.

The closure means there is currently no access between Scone and Gloucester via Barrington Tops.
