Singleton Council said they can’t determine when usual water supplies will be returned to properties following burst water mains in the town.
Council crews have worked through the night to fix at least 11 main breaks following damage to the water main by an external contractor yesterday.
A sinkhole has formed on Broughton Street at the corner of Market Street.

Sussex, Sylvester Close, Blaxland Avenue, Gibson Close, and Barton Avenue between Sussex and Church Streets are all affected.
Blaxland Street is under traffic control with ongoing disruptions to motorists.
Broughton Street is under traffic control and Orchard Avenue is closed.
