AGL rejects call to extend the life of Bayswater

AGL has flatly rejected a call to extend the life of its Bayswater Power Station till 2040.

Upper Hunter MP Dave Layzell yesterday called on Premier Chris Minns to include the facility near Muswellbrook in the state’s ‘Plan B’ to keep the lights on across New South Wales.

But a spokesperson from AGL has told the Hunter Valley Newsroom…the plant will close as already announced by 2033.
