The Apprentice Plumber will undertake on the job and formal training in plumbing to develop knowledge, skills and abilities in this area. • Under instruction and supervision of water and sewer staff:  Perform the inspection, servicing, maintenance and repair of Council’s water and sewerage schemes, ensuring adherence to safety procedures including:  Diagnosing faults and carrying out remedial treatment or repairs utilising appropriate work practices, techniques, tools and equipment.  Pipe maintenance and installation.  Service connection maintenance and installation.  Clearance of sewer chokes.  Assisting with pump maintenance and installation.  Assisting with pump station operation and maintenance. • Undertake routine checks and basic maintenance to ensure all tools and equipment utilised is kept in a serviceable and safe working condition at all times. • Provide efficient and courteous customer service at all times to internal and external customers. • Undertake works in accordance with all quality, environmental and WHS requirements, completing all appropriate documentation. • Participate in the continuous improvement process by contributing to the development, monitoring and review of systems and processes relevant to the position. • Complete course requirements for Certificate III including attendance at TAFE. • Other duties as directed, within the skills and capabilities of the employee.
