HEADING TO MAITLAND’S STEAMFEST THIS YEAR?
Get away from the hustle and bustle for home-made refreshments in the garden at the National Trust’s Grossmann & Brough Houses. At 71-73 Church Street, just a 5-minute walk from Maitland Station, enjoy freshly-cut sandwiches, scones or slices along with tea, coffee and soft drinks from 10am to 3pm on Saturday 29th. Our Artist in Residence will be on site in Brough House (free entry) with her stunning textile work on display. The Grossmann house museum will be open for tours on Sunday 30th also from 10am to 3pm, offering a glimpse into the life of a successful businessman in the 1870’s. A bonus is the presentation and history of the two hand-sewn replica 18th Century dresses – a collaboration between the National Trust and NIDA graduating students. Tour priced at $34 for family groups, $12 Adult and $10 Concession – National Trust members and children under 5 free.
