When you hear “beauty pageants” you probably think of human women (and men) competing. However, a series of pageants on the Arabian Peninsula celebrate the beauty of the dromedary, or one-humped camel.

A recent article authored by Jaime Gongora, Associate Professor of Animal & Wildlife Genetics, and Phd student Mahmood Alamri from Sydney Uni revealed the amazing and lucrative world of camel beauty contests. Jaime joined me to talk about the competitions.
