Do you remember taxis ever looking like this?
In New South Wales, we first had motorised taxis from around 1906 onwards, and for the flasher crowd (judges, barristers and the like) they were always Renaults. This was before Renault became the preferred mode of transport for the latte sipping society - the rest of us had to suffer Buicks and Chevrolets.
Throughout the fifties and sixties, most taxis were streamlined into brands like Holden and Ford, which remained for well over fifty years. In the early 2000's, we would see cars like the Toyota Camry and Avalon being thrown into the mix, however the Avalon hated LPG and the Camry never really took off until the Hybrid was introduced some years later.
