The 25-metre heated pool at Singleton Gym and Swim will be closed from today, as construction of a new enclosure begins.
The pool has operated as a temporary outdoor facility in recent months.
It will replace the 43-year-old dome that was demolished in April because of structural issues.

Council Acting General Manager Mel Curtis says the previous dome served the community well.
The 50-metre outdoor pool and splashpad will reopen for summer.
Construction on the new enclosure is due to be finished in mid-August next year.
