A man has been charged after an alleged clandestine laboratory was located and 15kg of cannabis seized in Muswellbrook, as part of Strike Force Polmont.
About 8.30am yesterday, officers attached to the State Crime Command’s Drugs and Firearms Squad, with assistance from the Public Order and Riot Squad and Hunter Valley Police District, executed a search warrant at a property on Cassidy Avenue.
During the search, police allege they located and seized a pistol, a paintball gun, prohibited weapons, approximately 15kg of cannabis, psilocybin, cocaine, THC gummies, steroids, prescription medicine, $12,630 in cash, and other items relating to the manufacture of prohibited drugs.
A 28-year-old man was arrested at the property and taken to Muswellbrook Police Station, where he was charged with 11 offences, including two counts of possessing an unauthorised prohibited firearm, three counts of possessing a prohibited drug, two counts of possessing or using a prohibited weapon without a permit, two counts of supplying a prohibited drug more than indictable but less than commercial quantity, recklessly dealing with proceeds of crime worth more than $5,000, and taking part in the supply of cannabis more than indictable but less than commercial quantity.
He was refused bail and appeared before Bail Division Court 2 today.
