Upper Hunter Shire Council has announced Jo Bailey Quality Care as the preferred provider to operate Gummun Place Hostel in Merriwa a licensed assisted boarding house supported by home care services.
The decision follows a comprehensive evaluation process, with council identifying the organisation as best positioned to deliver high‑quality supported accommodation aligned with regulatory requirements and community needs.
A lease is expected to commence in the coming months, marking an important step towards reactivating Gummun Place Hostel and strengthening supported housing options in the Upper Hunter.
Council says the future operation of the hostel will provide safe and stable accommodation for residents who require additional support in their daily lives.
