Glencore Australia has opened applications for its 2026 First Nations Pathways Program (FNPP), a paid education and training initiative designed to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians with ties to land near Glencore operations.

The 26-week program begins in May and is delivered in two phases across Glencore Coal sites in the NSW Upper Hunter Valley. Participants will gain practical skills, industry experience and complete a Certificate II in Surface Extraction.

Program coordinator Carrie Bendeich said the initiative aims to empower participants to build sustainable careers in the resources sector.

“Across our Australian business, we aim to foster meaningful relationships built on respect and trust with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples,” Bendeich said.

“Now in its eighth year, the FNPP continues to deliver life-changing outcomes, with many graduates securing ongoing employment by the end of the program.”

Applications are open now and close on Friday, February 20. More information is available at Glencore’s website.
