
Three young people have been charged after a pursuit in the Hunter Valley this week.
Around 8 am yesterday, Police attempted to stop an SUV on Wollombi Road in Muswellbrook that had reportedly been stolen from Scone.
A pursuit was initiated; however it was terminated in Denman.
Police tell us they monitored the vehicle until it stopped on Bengalla Road, Bengalla, where the trio of occupants allegedly ran from the vehicle.
Shortly after, two boys aged 11 and 13 alongside the driver – a 14-year-old girl were arrested.
The driver was charged with police pursuit – not stop – drive at speed, take and drive conveyance without consent of owner, and break and enter intend to commit serious indictable offence.
Both passengers were charged with be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner and break and enter intend to commit serious indictable offence.
All three were granted strict conditional bail to appear before a children’s court on Wednesday 28 May.
