Do you ever read the service agreement fine print before you click 'agree' or do you just press the button and hope for the best?
For most people it's usually the latter.
In an experiment, over 500 uni students were signed up for a fake social networking site believing they were helping with a pre-launch evaluation.
Ars Technica reports they were actually agreeing to hand over their first-born child to the fake company – enforceable until 2050 – as well as having their data and information shared with the NSA, foreign security agencies, and many other 3rd parties. But, of course, only 2% of people realised they were agreeing to any of that.
“I agree to these terms and conditions” may be the biggest lie on the Internet.
